Igor Almeida
Palm Beach Gardens Martial Arts was founded by our head instructor professor Igor Almeida. All our martial arts programs are also led by head instructor professor Almeida, a 4th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Professor Almeida was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, is currently a Brazilian Jiu -Jitsu Black Belt under professor Renato Tavares

Professor Almeida began his training at the age of 13 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil under Masters Sergio Souza (Bolão) and Eduardo da Silva (Brigadeiro) and continued his training in Florida in 2001. Almeida continues to follow the Carlson Gracie lineage under professor Renato Tavares and has been practicing mixed martial arts and Muay Thai since 2003 under professor Joel Garcia.
Almeida moved to the United States in 2001 to pursue his dreams of a mixed martial arts career. Almeida has fought in many MMA events, including Bellator and has an MMA record of 11 wins all by submission, with three losses. Almeida has been teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and martial arts since 2005. His passion for teaching along with extremely talented way of instructing draw many students in. Students really enjoy his classes, his sense of humor and learn very quickly with his detail oriented style of working from fundamentals to the most complex positions. He motivates each and every student and has a way of working with everyone individually which all students appreciate.
Almeida has been competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and mixed martial arts since 1994 and holds many titles and awards. Igor Almeida has been changing the lives of a lot of people in his comunity teaching adults and kids from the age of two on. One of his passions is to instill respect and honor within the comunity. PBGMA has programs that help special needs kids and adults.
